You know what really sucks? New software. Specifically - learning how to use it. Did I mix audio in Cool Edit Pro 1.2a for twenty+ years straight? Yes I did. Not because Cool Edit is any good, because my mind glazed over whenever looking at ProTools. Eventually time caught up to the shambling software I was mixing in and I finally bit the bullet, I bought PreSonus Studio One last year. It's really good. Haven't explored a single in-depth function, probably never will, I'm perfectly happy manually operating it like a glorified tape recorder. Which I also have.
Now it is time to wave goodbye to Adobe(you were never good but you didn't used to be evil, probabaly) and I just bought DaVinci Resolve to replace both Premiere and AfterFX.
It is much harder to treat it like a glorified video tape recorder. Which I also have. It's not just that deep functionality exists, it's that all the functionality is deep.
So far I've spent five hours mostly staring it. Hoping it would sense my unease and spout a clippy to dispense advice that's simultaneously inane and useful.
