Dumping plastic waste from rich countries on to poor countries is already criminal.
But when they catch fire it's even worse: the fumes are highly toxic for the environment over there but also the unfiltered microscopic particals fly high into the upper atmosphere and are dumped all over the planet. [JdeB]
Therefore Greenpeace asks you to sign this message to Dove [and to their co-polluters]

"Tell Dove to end their plastic pollution and put people and planet ahead of profits.
Please make sure to personalise your message: if we all send the same message, Dove’s chief execs will count it as one response. Let them know why this issue matters to you:"

"TELL DOVE: STOP FUELLING THE PLASTIC POLLUTION CRISIS!
Plastic waste fires are raging across the Global South, choking communities with toxic fumes.
The culprit? Beauty giants like Dove who pump out billions of plastic sachets and bottles that end up burning near people’s homes. This isn't just pollution – it's a health emergency.
We know their CEO, Hein Schumacher, has the power to end this crisis AND change the entire plastic industry for good. But he won't act unless we make him.
That's where you come in. Send a personal message to Schumacher now, and help us turn the tide against his plastic pollution. We know he's feeling the pressure so your email could be the tipping point that helps save countless lives."

Dear Rebecca,
I've been a loyal customer of your brands for years, particularly Dove, but I can no longer stay silent about Unilever's role in the global plastic crisis. Your commitment to sustainability rings hollow when I see the devastating impact of your single-use plastics, especially in vulnerable communities in the Global South.
Every time I now pick up a Dove product, I'm reminded of the thousands of plastic items your company produces each minute. These end up polluting our oceans and harming communities in places like the Philippines and India, where your plastic waste burns in landfills, releasing toxic fumes.
I like to believe that you entered this leadership position at Unilever with a genuine desire to make a positive impact. Now is your moment to truly live up to that aspiration. As a consumer who cares deeply about our planet, I'm urging you to take immediate action:
1. Stop selling sachets now.
2. Commit to phasing out all single-use plastics within 10 years.
3. Use your influence to advocate for these goals at the UN Global Plastics Treaty.
Until I see real, verifiable changes, I've made the difficult decision to stop buying all Unilever products. I know many others are joining me in this stand.
Unilever has the power and responsibility to lead the industry towards true sustainability. Will you kindly respond to my email and confirm that you are ready to rise to this challenge?
