I have no doubt that Miliband will be quietly beavering away trying to get as many renewables in the system as possible. The question is how much money is he going to get to do this. We know it isn't going to be enough but it will be interesting to see how much impact he can achieve in a government running an austerity program.

It will be particularly interesting to see what the incentives for rooftop solar are. Could this be a reintroduction of the feed in tariff? This could provide extra domestic energy without necessarily the need for extra infrastructure.

In terms of delivering cheaper energy and given we have a very big market for selling excess energy to Europe and Ireland, there is almost unlimited potential for growth in this industry. Dare I call it a Green Industrial Revolution?
