I just saw a video
where a [American] guy was complaining about some furniture wax being banned from his market.
"WHY CAN'T WE HAVE NICE THINGS ANYMORE" he complained.

Besides the latter being a ultra retrograde argument I decided that it was, in my opinion, the completely wrong question. Maybe asking first why the product was banned before complaining would have been a better course of action.
I couldn't help myself and with the few keywords I started searching with some specialized search engines.

It turns out that the manufacturer of the brand had changed an ingredient for a highly toxic chemical. Causing cancer by slowly evaporating toxins over time. Not something you'd like to use for [regularly] polishing your table top under your nose.
It turns out the chemical was 0.2 cts cheaper than the original natural non chemical product.
And on top of that, in American law, the manufacturer didn't have to change the name of the product. Which was something like the-original-grandma-Bee's-table wax, claiming the grandma was named Bee not claiming it as an ingredient.

That's American economy for you.

Consumers asking to be conned, but complaining even when their government is taking measures to protect them.
In their myopic view only seeing 'loss' when they gain health and life.

Manufacturers knowingly poisoning their customers for every bit of profit.
And fighting politics to the bone when government institutions are trying to protect their citizens from them.

Man with top hat looking at a bottle of poison.
